From The Author

I gave up on a great idea years ago, because it was too difficult to start.

Some of my first ideas for launching a business are still sitting in a notebook that I purchased well over 10 years ago, somewhere on the bottom of a filing cabinet.

Forgotten because when I originally thought them up, I quickly discovered that the amount of work required to take that idea and turn it into a business is incredibly complex and I felt overwhelmed.

For me, the hardest part of building any business was to simply start.

Looking back now, I can't say those ideas are any better or worse than the ones I can come up with today, but without starting I would never have known that.

There is one mantra that I use to help me start, every morning:

If you postpone starting by a single day, your postpone your success by a day.

It seems fairly simple, but that single sentence has encouraged and motivated myself and my team to work with me now to build new and incredible things.

You have a great idea.

It's the reason your here. It may not be the most unique idea, or the most exciting to the people around you, but you know that there's demand, that it solves a problem for someone, and therefore it needs to exist.

The reason I created this initial Brand Identity Development Workbook is to give you somewhere to start.

This is it. This is the one document you can use to kickstart your business idea. flipping through these pages you will start to envision your own potential:

  • Develop and write down your mission & vision statement
  • Identify your own target market
  • Finding your story
  • Develop your personal brand identity

I know, it seems like a no-brainer, but let me tell you from experience: when speaking to customers, my own teammates, partners and even potential investors, not having a sound brand identity, a solid understanding of who you are and why is just projecting uncertainty in your ideas and yourself. You know what I mean if you've ever:

  • Been asked what do you do.
  • Been asked to pitch someone your idea as quickly as possible.

I get it, I was there once. Through the experience of being asked to pitch a business idea for 5 minutes on stage in front of 300 people with only 30 minutes to prepare, I know what it's like to feel unbelievable pressure when it matters most.

From this knowledge and experience however, I've gone on to win pitch competitions, and I understand the importance of knowing your why.

In this workbook, I've created the ground work to everything you need to do and to know it order to start. To find you identity and voice. A veritable cheat sheet to knowing:

  • Who you are.
  • What you do,
  • Who your helping.
  • Why your want to help them.

When your finished with the Brand Identity Development Workbook Vol1, you won't just have template file sitting on your hard drive. You'll have a highly valuable document that clearly outlines your ready-ness to communicate your great business ideas to others, and to help them understand, and see clearly, the value in your vision. This workbook will help you to:

  • Future-proof your business ideas.
  • Increase the perceived value of your business.
  • Save you the hassle of trying to communicate your ideas on the fly.
